Easy Ninja Foodi Taco Pie

I remember the days when we had little kids running around our home; it made life hectic when it came time for dinner time. I wanted to make meals that were kid-friendly and quick. So when I make this taco pie, I can’t help but think how many parents will love a recipe like this. It is so fast to make, affordable, and allows you to spend minimal time in the kitchen, but give your family a home cooked meal!

I found my inspiration for this air fryer recipe from By_Pink’s Instant Pot Taco Pie

What Type Of Tortillas To Use For Taco Pie

I used flour tortillas for my taco pie. If you want to cut down on carbs, you can find a low carb tortilla that is flour based you can use. I have bought the Missions brand, and there really isn’t much difference in flavor, and they only have 6 grams of carbs. Some might want to reach for corn tortillas to layer in between; I would think it would be fine, I just personally haven’t tried that method.

Delicious Toppings for Ninja Foodi or air fryer Taco Pie

Here is where the sky is the limits! Reach for any of your favorite taco toppings and let each person in the household create the flavors they want. Maybe they are simple and just want to eat it plain, and then the next person wants every topping available. Just dice and slice and place items in bowls and let each member pile on what they want to their slice of pie!

Here are a few of my family’s favorite taco toppings to consider for the taco pie

  • Sour cream
  • Avocado or guacamole
  • Cilantro
  • Red onions
  • Salsa or Pica De Galo
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Black Beans

The list is endless here. Pile on what you enjoy, and grab that fork and dive in!

How To Store Layered Ninja Foodi or air fryer Taco Pie

If you have some leftovers, just place in an airtight container and place in the fridge for up to 3 days. Anything after that you will want to toss it out. I find if you add on the lettuce and tomato it will wilt as it sits on top of the pie, so I always refrain from putting any toppings on the pie if I know it all won’t get eaten that night.

Best Way to Reheat Ninja Foodi or air fryer Taco Pie

In our home, we are a fan of the microwave. We toss in how much we want and then reheat till warm throughout. If you don’t like the microwaveplace in an oven-safe container, wrap with aluminum foil and heat in the oven until cooked through. Wrapping it up will help it not to dry out during the cooking process.

Again if you have any toppings on your pie, you need to remove it before reheating, or it will ruin it. We also have eaten the taco pie chilled before, and it was pretty good. It was similar to leftover cold pizza!

Give this taco pie recipe a try today. I think you all will enjoy this easy and delicious taco pie recipe!
