This Maleficent co*cktail is a deliciously evil party co*cktail for Halloween, or for sipping on while watching the Maleficent movies.

It is made with vodka, raspberry liqueur, lime juice, and a secret ingredient to give it a magical shimmering look.

It looks so pretty served in a glass with cherries and is sure to be a hit with all those that drink it!

Maleficent co*cktail

My personal alcoholic drink of choice is vodka and lime, and we all know that my favorite color is purple…

Not only that, Maleficent is my all-time favorite Disney Villain, so essentially this is a perfect Halloween co*cktail for me – with literally a cherry on top! (I love maraschino cherries too!)

If you enjoy vodka co*cktails then this Maleficent co*cktail is going to be perfect for you!

It would be a delicious signature co*cktail at any party, not just Halloween, and would also be great to serve at a themed dinner party.

Ingredients used in this Maleficent co*cktail

Vodka – use your favorite brand
Raspberry Liqueur – or you could replace it with a raspberry vodka if you like
Lime Juice – fresh or from a bottle
Lemon-Lime Soda – e.g., Sprite or 7 Up
Silver Cake Shimmer – this is an optional extra that adds a shimmery effect to the drink. Also known as luster dust.
Purple Food Coloring – just a drop to turn the drink purple

How To Make A Maleficent co*cktail

This purple co*cktail is shaken and not stirred. Don’t worry if you don’t have a co*cktail shaker, you could just use a container with a tight-fitting lid – like a mason jar, water bottle, or even the cup on a blender or smoothie maker.

All the ingredients go into a co*cktail shaker (except the lemon-lime soda) and are shaken with ice. The concoction is poured into a glass and topped up with soda. So easy!

Maleficent co*cktail Variations

I always like to try and give variations on the co*cktails I share on The Purple Pumpkin Blog, and especially turning the co*cktail into a mocktail so that non-drinkers and kids can enjoy the drink too!

Maleficent Mocktail (Non-Alcoholic)

So that non-drinkers and kids can enjoy a glass of this purple potion we just need to make a simple change – remove the vodka, and replace the raspberry liqueur with raspberry syrup instead.

I love Monin syrups as there are lots of great flavors and they are a very versatile ingredient that can be used in co*cktails, mocktails, coffee, cocoa, shakes, smoothies, and more.

To make a Maleficent Mocktail mix some raspberry syrup with lemon-lime soda and stir in some purple food coloring and silver cake shimmer. Serve in a glass with ice and a cherry garnish.

Frozen Maleficent

Want to turn this co*cktail into a frozen slushie? Easy! Put all the ingredients in a blender with a generous amount of crushed ice – then blend till smooth. Serve with a straw, and watch out for brain freeze! You could do the same with the mocktail version too!

Maleficent Party Punch

If you want to make this co*cktail for a crowd you can easily make a large batch.

As long as you use the same measuring container (glass, cup, jug, etc) for the “1 part”, the ratios will be correct and you can make as much as you need to.

Serve in drinks dispensers, or pitchers, or go really retro and serve it from a punch bowl.

To make a batch of Maleficent Party Punch, mix together:

2 parts Vodka
4 parts Raspberry Liqueur
1 part lime juice
lemon-lime soda (Sprite or 7 Up) – as much as you need to top up
Silver Cake shimmer – as much as needed
Purple Food Coloring – as much as needed

While the individual co*cktail is shaken, when making a big batch just stir together the vodka, raspberry liqueur, and lime juice.

Top up with lemon-lime soda then add a few spoonfuls of silver cake shimmer/luster dust if you are using it in your drink to give it a bit of a shimmer.

Finally, add a few drops of purple food coloring to get the desired shade.

Transfer to your serving container of choice with plenty of ice and cherries for garnish.

This pretty purple Maleficent co*cktail is a deliciously evil party co*cktail for Halloween, or for sipping on while watching the Maleficent movies.

Ingredients

1 oz vodka
2 oz raspberry liqueur
½ oz lime juice
2 oz lemon-lime soda (Sprite or 7 Up)
1 tsp silver cake shimmer/luster dust
1 drop purple food coloring
Maraschino cherries for garnish, optional

Instructions

Place the vodka, raspberry liqueur, lime juice, silver shimmer, and purple food coloring in a co*cktail shaker with ice. Shake well until blended.
Pour into a glass filled with ice and top up with lemon-lime soda.
Add extra food coloring or shimmer if required.
Garnish with maraschino cherries if using.
